How to Apply for a Business Permit

The Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), under the Office of the Municipal Mayor, is the primary unit for processing all new and renewal applications for a Mayor’s Permit to operate a business in Alcantara.

The entire process for both new and renewed business permits is classified as a Simple Transaction with a targeted processing time of 35 minutes.

1. Mayor’s Permit of Business (Newly Started)

This process is for any individual or entity establishing a new business within the municipality.

Submit the complete checklist of requirements to the BPLO staff.
BPLO Staff (5 mins): Receive documents, perform initial assessment, and issue an Order of Payment.
Step 2: Payment of Fees
Receive the Order of Payment, proceed to the Municipal Treasurer's Office, and pay the corresponding business taxes and fees.
Municipal Treasurer's Office (10 mins): Receive payment and issue the Official Receipt (OR).
Step 3: Claiming the Permit
Return to the BPLO and present the Official Receipt.
BPLO Staff (20 mins): Verify the OR and issue the signed Mayor's Permit of Business.

2. Mayor’s Permit of Business (Renewal)

This process is for businesses continuing operations after the previous year’s permit has expired. The renewal process usually takes place during the first 20 days of January.

Payment of Fees

Renewal fees are based on the gross sales declared by the business owner for the preceding year. Please coordinate with the Municipal Treasurer’s Office for the accurate computation of your business taxes.
