Tourism Development
Alcantara, located on the southeastern seaboard of Tablas Island, is strategically positioned to be the primary gateway and an emerging eco-tourism destination in the province of Romblon, thanks to its pristine coastlines and rich, undeveloped mountainous interior.

The Municipality of Alcantara is committed to transforming its natural assets into a sustainable and economically sustained community. The local government aims to leverage its distinct natural beauty and accessibility to ensure long-term growth and create new opportunities for its citizens.
Pillars of Tourism Development
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alcantara has identified key strategies to boost the tourism sector, focusing on infrastructure, promotion, and destination improvement:

The LGU has specifically focused on enhancing roads, such as the Tablas Circumferential Road, for easier access to tourist spots. |
| Promotion & Partnership | To collaborate and coordinate with both private and public, national and local agencies for interagency partnership in the effective promotion of Alcantara as a premier tourist destination. |
