The Municipal Agriculture Office, as mandated by the Local Government Code of 1991 (RA 7160), takes charge of agricultural services and is responsible for:
Formulating measures and providing technical assistance and support to the Municipal Mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan (Municipal Council) to ensure the delivery of basic services and provision of adequate facilities related to agriculture and aquaculture.
Developing and implementing plans and strategies for agricultural programs and projects, particularly those related to food security, sustainable farming, and livelihood enhancement.
Being in the frontline of delivery of basic agricultural services, especially those needed for the survival of the inhabitants during and in the aftermath of man-made and natural disasters.
The objectives of the Municipal Agriculture Office center on increasing the productivity, profitability, and sustainability of the local farming and fishing communities:

| Increase Farmer/Fisherfolk Productivity | Ensure maximum assistance and access to resources in the production, processing, and marketing of agricultural and aqua-cultural products. |
| Promote Technology Adoption | Conduct or cause to be conducted location-specific agricultural researches and assist in making available and disseminating appropriate technology (e.g., high-yielding varieties, pest control) to maximize productivity. |
| Provide Extension and Support Services | Assist the Mayor in the establishment and extension services of demonstration farms, nurseries, and aquaculture/marine product sites. This includes providing technical advice, seeds, seedlings, and fingerlings (dispersal). |
| Enforce Regulatory Laws | Enforce rules and regulations relating to agriculture and aquaculture, and coordinate with other agencies to ensure agricultural productivity is compatible with environmental integrity. |
| Enhance Economic Well-being | Recommend and advise the Mayor and the Sanggunian on all matters related to agriculture and aquaculture that will improve the livelihood and living conditions of the inhabitants. |
