The Municipal Planning and Development Office serves as the chief planning and research arm of the Local Government Unit (LGU). Its primary function is to formulate integrated economic, social, physical, and other development plans and policies for the municipality, and to coordinate all planning and research activities.
The MPDO’s objectives are centered on ensuring sustainable, well-coordinated, and data-driven development across the municipality:
To provide accurate and reliable data necessary for the effective planning, monitoring, and evaluation of all LGU programs and projects.
To lead the preparation of comprehensive plans and investment programs, including the Municipal Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) and the Annual Investment Program (AIP).
To coordinate and supervise the planning, programming, and implementation of various development projects and activities with the different departments and national agencies.
To evaluate and recommend measures for the maximum utilization of local resources and revenues to support the development thrusts of the municipality.
